TAIPEI // NOVEMBER 2018

Taiwan – what a lovely country. One week was not nearly enough time to experience all this place has to offer. I did my best with the time I had, though. My first stop was the capitol city of Taipei. Even though Taipei is a massive city, I was surprised at how laid back it felt. Some things that surprised me:

• Garbage trucks play a lovely tune, similar to and ice cream truck. That’s the signal for people to bring their trash directly to the truck for disposal

• I absolutely loved having congee for breakfast. No toppings, just the congee. Seriously, how can rice porridge be so delicious?!

• There are so many green spaces. I especially enjoyed the creative parks – uniquely Taiwanese mix of green spaces and art galleries.

• The smell of stinky tofu was something that I had never experienced before. I wasn’t brave enough to try it, but maybe next time.

• Bubble tea is so much better here. Like, a lot better. And more customizable.

There are more photos in this post than usual. I just love the aesthetic of Taipei so much!
