JAPAN PART 5 // DECEMBER 2017

I’ve always been an explorer – especially when experiencing a city for the first time. Walking, rather than taking a faster means of transportation, allows for discovery of interesting details, interactions and neighborhoods.

This is the fifth of five posts from my trip to Japan in 2017. Instead of chronological order, they are organized by theme.

The theme of this post is “city” – photos of scenes and details that catch my eye while walking around.

HIROSHIMA

Visiting Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park closed a strange loop for me. Several years prior, I visited the Trinity Nuclear Test Site and the Los Alamos National Laboratory – both in New Mexico. These sites (among many others) were the genesis of the bombs that were eventually dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
